Las Golondrinas is a fantastic residential community within the broader resort community of Hacienda Pinilla, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
The oldest of the communities released for sale to the public, it was also the first beachfront community located within the resort community.
Where Is Las Golondrinas Located within Hacienda Pinilla?
To get to the community, you’ll first need to arrive at the main gate of Hacienda Pinilla. If it’s your first visit, maps are available at the gate.
Follow the signs past the golf course on either side and then turn into the gates of Las Golondrinas itself.
Las Golondrinas sits almost exactly between Playa Avellanas and Playa Langosta on the north, so walking to either beach is easy. You can also swim at the rockier Playa Mansita in front but be careful. Playa Mansita is also within walking distance from all the Hacienda Pinilla Condominiums.
What Does “Las Golondrinas” Mean?
The name translates to “The Swallows,” a reference to the type of bird. Hacienda Pinilla also uses a bird in its logo and the whole area is designed to keep wildlife present. The golf course is Audobon certified.
What Are the Amenities of Las Golondrinas?
Since the development is comprised of single-family home sites, the homes themselves typically have many amenities including private pools, outdoor barbecues/grills, golf carts, high-speed internet, chef’s kitchens, and much more.

How Many Lots Are There?
There are 77 lots within Las Golondrinas. Three of them are reserved as park spaces. All condominiums in Costa Rica must have public areas.
What Types of Vacation Rentals Are Available within Las Golondrinas?
Since the condominium project is what is referred to as “horizontal” in Costa Rica, the vacation rentals within the community are all single family homes. Some of them were designed by Hacienda Pinilla as spec homes. Casa Jardines is one example of this.
Later buyers simply built homes to their own preferences, always respecting the architectural requirements of the bylaws. 3-7 bedroom homes are available and larger parties may rent more than one home for a family reunion or corporate getaway.
